Derrick Henry Leads The Pack

This is to be expected. The power back from Alabama also has the speed an illusivness to make the kind of big runs that win rushing titles.

The NFL’s Top Leading Rushers list is currently filled with the usual suspects. Out liars like Danial Jones and Lamar Jackson make interesting entries. Jalen Hurts is another running quarteback who is putting up good rushing numbers to this point. Yet, we should expect the hardcore runners to start filling out the top ten in the next 3 or so weeks.

It appears there will be no Adrian Perterson in the NFL this year, or any others for that matter. The Great Frank Gore sits at exactly 16,000 total career rushing yards. However, he also does not have a team to suit up for entering the 2021 NFL campaign. So there will be no runs at all-time greatness this season.

    Health goes without saying. But you know Henry is going to get fed the ball in that system. So if I had to bet money on who would win the rushing title it would be Derrick Henry, for that reason alone.

    Yeah, but Henry is a monster. He’ll do more with the rock than most guys who are given the same opportunities.

    I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m saying that he’s in a great system. Their are other talented guys who are not going to get the touches that Henry gets. That plays a big factor. The Titan’s offense is designed for Derrick Henry to touch the ball so many times a game, even if they are behind they still run him.

  6. Gary Payton was asked by a reporter once how he would stop Michael Jordan. Gary’s response was, “You can’t stop him.” He explained that it wasn’t because Michael was so much the better athlete than everybody else. It was because the Chicago Bulls’ entire system was designed to go through Jordan. Everything they did was based on what he did well, which was a lot. That was why he was impossible to stop… It’s rare for a running back to get that now a days. Derrick Henry is the closest thing I’ve seen in a long time to a Bell Cow running back.

  7. Dalvin Cook gets fed the ball pretty good. So does Christian McCaffery.

  9. These guys also have big names. They should be expected to touch the football so many times per game. They will definitely be in conversation throughout the season.

  10. It’s amazing that Nick Chubb is so high up there. He shares so much time with another great back in Kareem Hunt.

  12. Yeah, but Hunt is not featured in that offense the way Chubb is.

  13. I wouldn’t say that. Chubb is just so dynamic, when he gets his chances he blows it up.

  14. That’s as true as fuck. Cleveland is loaded. The only reason they aren’t picked to win the Super Bowl is because they are Cleveland. People aren’t ready to get their minds around that yet.

  15. I like Christian McCaffery. His Dad was a groundbreaking talent. But the rushing title is as much about durability as it is opportunity. McCaffery has already been dinged up in his short career. I don’t think the Panthers are going to lean on him enough for him to 15 or 16 or 1700 yards rushing in one season.

  18. Lol! That’s what’s up… I grew up a Houston Oilers fan. I hated the fucking Broncos.

    However, I am a history nerd. Those Terrell Davis/Mike Shanahan Broncos were fun to watch. One of the great NFL runs of all time.
